Champagne Pools is one of the iconic tourist destinations on Fraser Island, and one that most day visitors only get to see fleetingly. If you’re based at Orchid Beach for a period of time, it is highly recommended to pick a day with sunny weather and visit the pools on low tide early in the morning.

Being the northernmost point of the daily bus tours, the pools can become very busy once the buses arrive, so getting in early is always the best and low tide is always preferable so that the pools are more pool-like and less washing machine-like!

There are toilet facilities available but no drinking water etc, so be sure to bring water and other supplies with you, along with some snorkeling gear as the pools are often teeming with marine life.
